Now that we know what Google AdSense is and how it works, The next thing we all want to know is how to make money with Google Adsense. When it comes to making money online, Google Adsense is one of the top ways we can make money on the internet legally.

Apart from the fact that Google is a known, trusted company, Google also has over 2 million publishers and has paid more than $7 Billion to its publishers in 2012 alone! according to a report by marketingland.com.

Getting paid by Google is such an amazing feeling, just imagine having google send you cheques every month just by working from home. Pretty cool right? Well, the best part is, It’s not hard to achieve that.

90% of the ads you see on websites online like TMZ, FoxNews, GhanaWeb and the rest are all Google Adsense ads. These ads are controlled by Google, and they pay you(website or blog owner) money just to show ads on your website.

A couple of years ago, You could start a blog for free using Google’s free blogging platform blogger.com, blog about your personal life, attract a lot of readers and Google pays you for placing ads on your content. Nowadays, It’s not that simple.

Most readers online do not want to read about your personal life but rather learn something new. 99% of the time people search for content on Google is to acquire valuable information and not to read about a random person’s life, They have youtube for that now.

All that I’m trying to say is, To make money with Adsense by blogging in today’s age, You will need to provide valuable content to your readers to get traffic to your website in order to make money from Google Adsense.

News blogs are one of the most popular ways to make money with Adsense. By starting a news blog you can get visitors coming to your site daily. There are certain niches you can’t blog about if you intend to make money with Adsense from your site. Such as:

• Adult sites (Any website with adult content will not be accepted to use AdSense)
• Vaping or drug-related niches
• Gambling and Casino sites
• Websites promoting violence

To make money with your blog and AdSense you’ll need to place about 3 AdSense banner ads on each page of your site.

Anytime a visitor clicks on an ad on your website, You get paid. Mostly anywhere from $0.10 to $10 depending on a couple of factors which includes the niche of your site and the country of your website visitor.

Google pays more for traffic from tier 1 countries. Meaning if you receive 100,000 visitors to your website a month from Africa, The money you will make from your traffic won’t be as much as a blogger who receives 100,000 visitors a month from America, Canada or the U.K.

This is because, Advertisers from these tier 1 countries, pay more to get their ads shown to people from tier 1 countries. This shouldn’t discourage you if the content of your website is targeted at Africans, African bloggers make money too from African traffic. You just have to focus on creating good content and getting more targeted traffic to your website.

• Create a Blog
• Blog about relevant content
• Place Adsense ads on your site
• Promote your Blog on social media to drive traffic
• Follow Google’s TOS

Following Google’s TOS (Terms of Service) is very crucial if you want to continue making money with Adsense. Google can kick you out of the program at any time if they believe you have violated their TOS in any way. Some things you shouldn’t consider doing to boost your Adsense income includes:

• Clicking on your own AdSense ads placed on your website
• Asking family members you live with to click on your Adsense ads
• Buying fake traffic to your website to make money with Adsense
• Placing too many AdSense ads on your site to force your visitors to click your ads
• Asking your visitors to click on your Adsense ads

Making money with Adsense on youtube is similar to blogging, with youtube, You create a channel, post videos and get paid. It sounds simple right?… Because it is. Youtube content creators or Youtubers for short make money with AdSense by placing Google ads into their videos and get paid when people view these videos with ads on them. Unlike blogging, placing Adsense ads on youtube videos isn’t done manually it’s done automatically. After getting accepted into the AdSense youtube program and making a few settings in your youtube account, ads will begin to show on your videos.

• Create your Youtube Channel
• Go to your Channel’s features page and turn on monetization
• After following the process and linking your channel to your AdSense account, Ads will begin to show on your videos.
• Select which videos to monetize and the type of ads that can be shown on your videos ( You can do this by going to your ad manager )

Unlike Blogging, making videos about your personal life can get you more traffic on youtube. This term is referred to as Vlogging. Keeping your viewers updated about your daily life is one of the easiest ways to get traffic to your videos on youtube.

TO GET ACCEPTED TO THE ADSENSE PROGRAM AS A YOUTUBER, YOU NEED A MINIMUM OF 4000 HOURS OF VIDEO WATCH TIME.
